Description

Nope! Not stars exactly... :giggle: These are again, the "Star of Bethlehem" flowers.

For those of you who have bothered to read some of my tutorials on photography, take a gander at the EXIF data on this shot. I was trying to keep the flowers in the middle and foreground in acceptable focus.
This wasn't the easiest shot to get. This particular cluster is out in my back yard very near the compost bin. I nearly had to lay in the compost to get this shot, at this particular angle!
You'll also notice the line of blooms on the right, are almost a straight line, diagonal, then it creates a "Vee" going to the left. Realizing that this shot had a somewhat weak focal point, (in my opinion, anyway) I used a vignette to draw more attention to the largest bloom, upper left center.

Although I'm sure I won't ever get a DD or anything like that for my efforts... I really liked this particular shot myself.

I read your tutorials... and I am so thrilled by this photo. It is just perfect and I am amazed that you could use ISO 400 at 3 pm and get such a perfect focus!
With my camera, ISO 400 means NOISE! :tears: That, not to mention the zoom... having no zoom lens, I use the camera zoom and the more I zoom, the more blurred the photo gets. It's frustrating

Regretfully, I have no DSLR, nor can I select the depth of field I want (in numbers). I can choose between near or far, but always just two options (i.e. F3,5 vs. F8, F4 vs. F9 or F5 vs. F10). It is so frustrating...
In my exchange with friends I accept and understand that I still have lots to learn (and I am eager to), so since buying a better camera is out of the question right away, I use the time to feed my brains with information . At some point I will be able to buy a DSLR !!!

This last weekend I remembered our message exchange when you captured that magnificent sea gull (it is on one of your tutorials also). There you mentioned luck, and I disagreed... but I kind of understand now what you mean. You need a bird to be at the exact position at the right moment to get the perfect shot.
If you are good at photography, you achieve excellence. If you are not good, an amateur, then you get a cool shot .

I got lucky this weekend ! And I so remembered you then. I haven't uploaded my photo yet, but I will

I really like this piece a lot. It makes me feel energized...
